Let's Decorate the Wall

I don't know how others feel about this, but I absolutely love decorating walls.

Whether it's photographs, pictures, paintings, or calligraphy, I simply can't get enough of them!

I also love them because when the seasons change, holidays come, or just my own mood shifts, I can easily change and rearrange them.

Most recently, our bedroom fell "victim."

Here's a brief photo report of my activity in this regard.

A creatively arranged gallery wall combining templates, frames, and calligraphy

This time I painted with a stencil. I combined this with picture frames, and finally spiced it up with a bit of calligraphy.

Always start by cleaning the walls.

For renovations and new constructions, I always recommend washable wall paint to my clients. True, they're a bit more expensive, but they pay for themselves many times over. And if there are children in the house, it's practically mandatory!

After we've prepared the wall, let's choose what pattern we'll paint on it. I recommend planning it out on paper, drawing several variations, and always sleeping on it before actually picking up the paint.

Always pay attention to color selection. Match the paint color to the other colors in the room, because this is harder to change later. Pictures can be easily swapped in the frames anytime — there's less risk there.

When painting with a stencil, we can choose from several techniques. This time I chose spray paint, partly for its simplicity, and partly because with this technique the result isn't so sharply defined but rather slightly blurred.

When the painting is done, don't skimp on drying time!

If we've already pre-selected the pictures, all that's left is to place them in the frames and hang the frames on the wall.

DONE!

I hope I've inspired you to try your own project…
