Photo Wall

In our home, it functions more like the middle pages of a large memory book. I love it when not just pictures go into the frames, but children's drawings, postcards we bought on trips, prints, fabrics, or anything connected to a pleasant experience.

You just need to walk past this wall and the memories and feelings come rushing back.

I love digital photos, I love that we can capture so many experiences through them, but they're not worth much if we store them on a computer's hard drive.

Let's boldly display them. Whether it's a hallway, bedroom, children's room, or even our living room, we can be sure it will be our favorite spot where we pause for a moment now and then in this rushing world.

I really like the solution shown in the first image, where the pictures stand on a rail. It has two advantages: we can easily swap the frames and pictures anytime, and simply by changing the order, different pictures can take center stage.

We can choose identical frames in different colors and sizes. We can place them on a colored wall or on wallpaper. We can illuminate them directly or indirectly. It can be playful or elegant, childlike or serious, loud or understated. Anything. UNIQUE.

Always make sure the frames are in harmony with the home's original style. They don't have to be identical, but pay close attention to the overall harmony!

The slightly cold atmosphere of a minimalist apartment can be perfectly counterbalanced with art nouveau, baroque, ornate picture frames, in which it's almost mandatory to place black-and-white or sepia photographs.

Of course, it's a different matter if we're talking about a restaurant, a nightclub, or an office.

Here, there's less need for a personal touch. Though it does say a lot about us what pictures, style, or mood we choose for these spaces.

On the wall of the Pozsonyi Kisvendéglő, there are pictures showing Budapest's old character. I love them. They have a wonderful atmosphere, they evoke emotions in me. While waiting, it's nice to look at them, travel through time… Imagining, being there a little. Then and now.

You can never get tired of it, because it's always varied, always renewing, always unique, and nowhere are there two identical ones!
